Jenelle Nemeth BSN, RN, IBCLC

Founder of Breastfeeding Savvy Consultants

Jenelle has been a registered nurse for 15 years, spending the majority of her career as a Labor & Delivery nurse, as well as Postpartum nurse and Lactation Consultant at Saint Peter’s Hospital. Jenelle continued her education and became an IBCLC in 2015 when she realized her knowledge in breastfeeding/ pumping was limited- she has been supporting breastfeeding/ pumping families ever since. Jenelle also directed a daycare with over 100 children in it and was fortunate to support breastfeeding/ pumping families in the daycare setting. Daycare enhanced Jenelle’s experience with the older breastfeeding families and toddlers and helped solidify her clinical skills in regard to the older breastfeeding infant/ toddler stages. Jenelle breastfed her daughter for 27 months and although she struggled with her son (and learned a lot firsthand in regard to breastmilk jaundice and food allergies- he tested her clinical knowledge every step of the way!) was able to persevere and enjoyed breastfeeding him well into toddlerhood. When Jenelle is not helping families optimize their breastfeeding/ chest feeding/ pumping/ parenthood journey, she enjoys spending time on the lake or camping with her husband and children.

Barb Donnelly BA, RN, IBCLC

Barb Donnelly is a Registered Nurse and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant. She was a long-time postpartum nurse where she discovered her love for helping mothers and families navigate the challenges and joys of breastfeeding. She was a hospital based IBCLC for 6 years before joining Breastfeeding Savvy in November of 2022. Barb has a particular interest in maternal mental health and the well-being of the entire family. Barb and her husband Michael have two children in their twenties, Liam and Maeve, and a crazy chocolate Lab named JoeB. When she’s not perpetually throwing a ball for JoeB, she enjoys baking and hiking with her husband in the ADK.’

Kathie Burke RN, IBCLC - Not currently practicing but we are hopeful to have kathie back in the near future

Kathie is an RN who has worked in hospitals providing mothers, babies, families with care during pregnancy, birth and postpartum, for several decades. She has always had a passion for birth and nursing. She was involved with La Leche League as a young mother-long term nursing her own babies, including tandem nursing. She has been an IBCLC for more than 10 years- providing teaching, support and assistance as needed for families both in the hospital, and via outpatient phone consults and office visits as needed, for help over coming challenges. She has had the greatest joy witnessing her own grandbabies nurse. She is eternally grateful her grown children understood the value of this part of their relationship with their children. And to her firstborn granddaughter, who really struggled with breastfeeding- she and her mama taught Kathie more than she ever wished for, how to support others. She would love to support you on your journey.

Annie Dolezal BSN, RN, IBCLC

Annie has experience as an RN at Albany Medical Center’s PICU, the Progressive Care Unit at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, St. Peter’s NICU, and an RN CLC (lactation counselor) at St. Peter’s Women and Children’s Department. Her greatest joy is to guide parents and children to become capable and confident in new skills, and to become advocates for themselves.

Annie fell in love with the art and science of breastfeeding during her own breastfeeding experience with her firstborn. She became a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) in 2018 and IBCLC in 2023.  She breastfed both of her children into toddlerhood, with happiness and challenges unique to each journey. Clinical research met practical experience many times over - with bottle refusal, nursing strikes, pumping for work, nursing while babywearing, and so many snuggles! She is looking forward to helping you and your family on your own breastfeeding journey.

Sarah Henderson MS, OTR/L, CLC

Sarah Henderson is an occupational therapist with over 15 years experience. She spent her career at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital helping patients return to their lives and regain independence. After having her daughter, Sarah personally experienced the rewarding yet difficult journey of breastfeeding. She realized her passion for lactation and decided to pursue a new aspect of her career to help other families meet their feeding goals!

She became a Certified Lactation Counselor and joined Breastfeeding Savvy as an intern in November 2022. Sarah gained hospital experience with another internship at Bellevue Woman’s Center. She gained her IBCLC in 2024 and now practices as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and is enjoying her personal lactation journey with her toddler son.

Being able to personally experience breastfeeding while becoming a lactation consultant has been an invaluable learning opportunity for Sarah. Her children allowed her to learn firsthand about milk supply concerns, postpartum anxiety, returning to work, allergies, and breastfeeding while chasing after a preschooler. Her family enjoys going on adventures, eating good food, and playing with their pup. Sarah is thrilled for the opportunity to support you in your own unique breastfeeding experience!
